Glass Floors

Glass floors can be regarded as a luxury item but play a major role in the transmission of natural light through building structures. We have been involved with glass floor projects whether they are decorative, stair tread or structural floor slab separation. Adding light or colour can now be achieved and we have solutions for making these glass floors fire resistant.

A key issue in realising glass floors in projects is cost planning and we can provide design and cost advice to suit a cost plan or to ensure the cost plan suits the design. Assisting with the compliance of BS 6399 (BS/EN 1990), DDA and safety requirements, not to mention privacy, anti-slip and cleaning maintenance which are issues we can provide a variety of solutions to. We can also provide glass floors that can comply to fire separation requirements or provide thermal break performance such as on roof terraces or pavements.
