Whether you require an all glass structure or a hybrid of steel or aluminium and glass, we can provide design assistance, thermal and solar shading performance data and we can also provide systems allowing the installation of solar panels to make roofs areas provide the added benefit of energy production.
All our designs will consider on going maintenance, CDM replacement strategy and safety fall arrest as well as complying to CWCT Technical Notices and all BS/EN standards.
There are many systems today to deliver a structural glass roof system with bolted glass giving the impression of the roof floating over the supporting structure. Systems can offer the designer different performance and appearance with either bolt dimensions, bracket design choices and even some systems where there is no bolt penetration through the outer pane of glass. Assistance in the design of the supporting steelwork or glass beams also ensures that OAG's designs encompass the whole structure of the roof providing the ideal partner for both design and installation.
The use of traditional aluminium framed systems on roof designs can create issues with water drainage and if the minimum acceptable pitch of the roof is not considered. Other systems just silicon seal all joints to appease system providers concerns. OAG have approved and tested systems for roofs of 2 degree pitch, with or without the cheaper capped designs and can provide solutions that do not require the traditional aluminium box sections above the supporting steelwork.
