ESTIMATOR

| Salary Negotiable PERMANENT
As an Estimator you will be part of the UK’s leading architectural glass specialist. In the fast track industry of commercial building, we pride ourselves in offering quality service and innovative design that allows our clients to create flexible workspaces. OAG has extensive experience in the design, development and installation of architectural glazing, balustrading, facade’s, curtain wall, atriums, fire glass products, glass roofs and floor systems. The successful candidate will have knowledge of glass, various curtain wall systems and steel and cladding materials.   ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
  • Knowledge of specialist glazing and curtain walling
  • Commercially aware
  • Able to work efficiently and proactively
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor at intermediate level.
  • Able to deal well with people at all levels within their client as well as suppliers.
  • Eligible to work full time within the UK.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Review tender enquiry documents
  • Take off quantities where necessary from drawings
  • Attend sites as required and take clients brief
  • Identify, prepare and send out enquiries for materials and sub-contract items
  • Receive and evaluate prices for materials and sub-contractors
  • Build up price using our estimating system
  • Liaise with BDM’s to ensure that any tender presentation is required in adequate time
  • Present the price for adjudication
  • Finalise any changes and submit price
  • Attend mid-bid and post tender meetings
  • Prepare handover documents once a project has been secured

QUANTITY SURVEYOR

As a Quantity Surveyor you will be part of the UK’s leading architectural glass specialists. In the fast track industry of commercial building , we pride ourselves in offering quality service and innovative design that allows our clients to create flexible workspaces. OAG has extensive experience in the design; development and installation of architectural glazing a solid grounding in balustrading, facade’s curtain wall, atrium glass roofs and floor systems. The successful candidate will have knowledge of procurement of steel, cladding materials and glass and should be able to source various rain screen types and a understanding of curtain wall would be an advantage. Reporting to either a Commercial Director or Financial Manager the successful Quantity Surveyor will have responsibility for all commercial aspects on a number of projects particularly income and expenditure to maximise profit margins and monitor budgets. ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in construction related subject or equivalent level.
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor at intermediate level.
  • Able to deal well with people at all levels within their client as well as suppliers.
  • Eligible to work full time within the UK.
  • Valid UK driving licence
  • Working knowledge of JCT 2005 & JCT 2011 contracts with and without Design Portion, D&B, and Fixed Price, and any NEC form of contracts.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Preparation of project budgets, checking projects contracts, administering projects Contracts.
  • Measurement of project to check quantities against tender allowances.
  • Preparation of tender documents for any sub contract works and specialist suppliers.
  • Set budgets for, and raise payments, for subcontract labour; manage variations as they occur; producing fortnight cost reports to their Clients.
  • Ensure an awareness of their key responsibilities under the contract; ensure regular agreement of site instructions with the client. Ensure payments are received on time in accordance with the contractual payment terms; ensure retention monies are released when due.
  • Prepare and discuss the final account for projects. Negotiate and agree final accounts with parameters set by Line Manager. Prepare monthly Cost Value Reports.

Senior Designer

As a Senior Designer you will be part of the UK’s leading architectural glass specialist. In the fast track industry of commercial building, we pride ourselves in offering quality service and innovative design that allows our clients to create flexible workspaces. OAG has extensive experience in the design, development and installation of architectural glazing, balustrading, facade’s, curtain wall, atriums, fire glass products, glass roofs and floor systems. The successful candidate will have knowledge of glass, various curtain wall systems and steel and cladding materials. Experience with 2D Autocad is essential, experience of Solidworks and / or Revit is advantageous. With 7-10 years design experience in glazing, fenestration, cladding or similar industry, candidates will have the following characteristics:

  Responsibilities
  • Represent OAG design confidently at external client meetings.
  • Specify glass and glazing solutions
  • Competent detailing of standard systems, such as Raico, Schuco, Point fixed glazing
  • To know all relevant legislation regarding glass selection to be Building Regulation compliant, as well the guidelines issued by the CWCT.
  • To have a good working knowledge of the BS8300 and Part M legislation.
  • To be able to confidently predict program, and maintain progress against that program.
  • To be accurate with presented work, keeping checking time and rework time to an absolute minimum.
  • To be 100% compliant with the design procedure laid out within our ISO9001 document.
  • Provide a complete project design, using 2D and 3D cad, including General arrangements and details, component fabrication drawings, schedules, risk assessments etc.
