The Woolgate redevelopment is a transformative project in the heart of London’s Square Mile, redefining a landmark office headquarters with a focus on sustainability, innovation, and architectural excellence. Designed by Stiff + Trevillion, the nine-storey revamp enhances the building’s functionality while preserving 98% of the existing structure, targeting net zero carbon in both construction and operation.
Significant improvements have been made at ground level, including an enlarged reception area on Basinghall Street and a new entrance on Coleman Street, both of which enhance accessibility and elevate the arrival experience.
As part of this ambitious renovation, we delivered an extensive glazing and façade refurbishment. This included the reglazing and on-site refurbishment of over 400 glass windows and their frames, the installation of an eight-storey framed glass atrium crowned with a steel and glazed rooflight that floods the building with natural light, and new curtain walling to the terraced and balcony areas fabricated using Hydro CIRCAL 75R recycled aluminium — aligning perfectly with the project’s sustainability goals.
