Project Story
Informally known as ‘The Trellis’ due to its external cross bracing, 1 Undershaft is situated in the city of london financial district. Developed for insurance provider Aviva, we assisted TTSP in implementing a vibrant modern twist on the 1960s building located in the hub of London’s financial district.
Working closely with Como to support this landmark structure we used 7.6 metre high glass fins, weighing in at just under a tonne each.
With the digital expertise of Light Lab, we transformed the interior into a technical haven fit for the 21st century. We installed feature LED back lit panels to fill the buzzing entrance and projecting feature pods with splashes of colour.
Surrounding the double height entrance foyer are 8m bolted low iron glass panels. This along with the structural fins allowed us to surround the reception with single glazed glass, an inner-city feature in itself.

Working alongside 3000 other employees is no easy challenge, however by merging this two-phase project into one, as well as operating outside of office hours, we were able to complete the task with as little disruption as possible.
