Glass atriums are key features in modern architecture, with glass roofs overhead and full height, slab-to-slab façades that allow plenty of sunlight to pour down into the core of the building.
We specialise in atria construction and have developed slab edge barrier glazing for both frameless and framed structures. Using our patented glass-to-glass joints, the overall form of the atrium comes to the fore with fewer visible lines breaking it up. We can offer some amazing creative solutions too, like coloured interlayers or images printed onto or laminated into the glass.
With taller structures, or where the designer favours vertical lines, an aluminium or steel framed solutions are available. We regularly create bespoke framed atriums and offer several attractive solutions for office partition systems that abut an atrium’s lining.
Solutions can also incorporate spandrel panels, which can be designed to be modular and unitised for faster installation on site.
Designs can also incorporate glass pods that reach out further into the atria spaces, generating not only more lettable flooring area but also creating a really stunning statement.
With health and safety regulations in mind, atria linings are frequently required to contain smoke, withstand fire and provide strong physical barriers within the structure. We supply glass solutions to ensure it meets BS/EN fire and barrier load standards.
