Gray’s Inn Road

200 Gray’s Inn Road is a landmark office development in London’s Knowledge Quarter, WC1, originally completed in 1990 and designed by Foster + Partners. Known for its prominent architectural form and strategic location, the building is currently undergoing a significant refurbishment to modernise and enhance its facilities in line with evolving workplace standards. 

We’re back at 200 Gray’s Inn Road, undertaking further works as part of the building’s ongoing transformation. As part of this next phase, our team has been appointed to deliver a comprehensive glazing and façade package across multiple key elements of the redevelopment. 

We are installing a high-performance curtain wall stick system integrated with an automated door system. The curtain wall includes a clerestory window profile at high-level, complete with aluminium flashings, EPDM water and vapour membranes and mastic sealed glass-to-glass junctions to ensure optimal performance and weatherproofing. 

The south-facing foyer screen incorporates a curtain wall system with opening vents. designed to support maintenance and cleaning strategies. The north-facing screen features manual entrance door, seamlessly integrated into the same curtain wall system for a consistent architectural finish.

Mirroring the Main Pavilion, this installation included a curtain wall system with an integrated automated door, clerestory glazing, glazed-in-louvres and opening vents. As will all elevations, the system is completed with aluminium flashings, EPDM sealing and mastic joints at junctions for airtight and watertight finish. 

We are delivering a structural steel and façade solution comprising steel supports and SFS framing to carry rainscreen and louvre systems. Panels and louvres have been carefully selected to match the aesthetics of the existing façade, ensuring continuity and cohesion across the building envelope. 

As part of the façade refurbishment, existing louvre blades and door units across floors 1 to 6 will be replaced and repositioned to align with the updated layout and performance requirements.
