OAG supplied and installed the glazing solutions for the extensive ground level business, restaurant and retail units to the Elephant Park development. We were first engaged by Lendlease back in 2016 to tender the glazing solutions for the extensive ground floor level business, restaurant and retail units. The development included several other elements such as; common access areas and communal entrances to both private residences and affordable housing.
Lendlease has been working in partnership with London’s Southwark Council to deliver a £2.3 billion regeneration project with over 3000 new homes in Elephant & Castle since 2010. Elephant Park will create space for 50 new local shops, restaurants and cafes and will include affordable rented commercial properties to attract local, independent businesses. In total, Elephant Park will create c.32,000 square metres of retail, business, community and leisure space, 3,000 new homes (25% affordable housing) and 6,000 new jobs (5,000 in construction and 1,000 in completed development).
Lendlease’s advanced procurement initiative, with early procurement by over a year, yielded advantages with respect to design development and cost certainty to the client on this scheme.
We were able to provide non-standard glazing solutions which ensured we were not constrained by standard glazing systems capabilities. Effectively allowing us to offer customised solutions which closely match the architects design intent and clients commercial budget parameters.
After OAG achieved completion of the H2 block in record installation time, we were then awarded the next phase of works with MP3_H5 as part of the ongoing development in Elephant park which is due to be completed in 2025.
