A showpiece glass and steel structure, with an almost seamless façade and glass features provided by OAG.

Visitors to O2’s offices in Slough will marvel at the multi-storey façade that OAG helped construct, which connects the two main office buildings at the property.

At 60m long and with elevated walkways and platforms inside it the structure has become one of OAG’s iconic jobs and is a real shop window for O2’s brand and technology.

To support the glass panels, we constructed a secondary steel frame and fixed it to the building’s main structure. Horizontal beams hold the glass panels in place the length of the building. However, there are no vertical mullions and OAG engineered a glass-to-glass system, which is sealed with silicone so there’s very little interruption to the glazing.

Light streams in through both sides of the building, which houses reception areas, meeting rooms, cafes and more. There’s even an open-air patio area, enclosed by glass curtain walls, within the upper level.

Leaving a lasting impression on anyone who visits O2, both the design and finish of this structure are stunning. It’s one of OAG’s iconic works.
