Project Story
Developed for property investor Land Securities, One New Change offers a dramatic retail environment designed by the award-winning French architect Jean Nouvel. We delivered its unique, angular glass balustrades.
Nouvel’s innovative geometric design for the balustrades along each level of the internal atrium features trapezoidal glass panels that augment the building’s bold, contemporary look. The challenge was to design and install these glass trapezoids. Some of the glass is set vertically, but a lot of it is at an incline, which added to the task’s complexity.

Project Story Continued
There’s an artful touch to the glass along the balustrades too. Fritted onto it is a unique, graduating pattern that flows around the completed balconies. This meant each piece of glass had to be individually manufactured, fritted and fitted. The team on-site was always aware that the finish had to be of exceptional quality, meeting and indeed exceeding Jean Nouvel’s high standards.
