New Bodleian Library

Minimal stylish frameless glazing in keeping with the landmark building’s gorgeous stonemasonry

Project Story

Oxford University’s New Bodleian Library is home to all written works published in the UK and is the second biggest library in Britain. The challenge on this project was to create minimal stylish frameless glazing in keeping with the landmark building’s gorgeous stonemasonry.

We also provided interior and exterior fire protection on multiple levels consisting of fire rated doors and screens.

Coming through our entrance glazing and automatic doors you are surrounded by our frameless mezzanine, including link bridges connecting the main library to the historic archives.

Finally, we installed various roof lights illuminating the entrance hall and protruding glazed balconies below.
