Project Story
Located in the City of London, 63-66 Coleman Street provides 56,000 sq ft of flexible workspace with rooftop amenity spaces and an improved public realm. The scheme has been sensitively designed to enhance the character of the local conservation area, combining retained historic fabric with new contemporary facades to Coleman Street and Moorgate.
Alongside the retained façade of 63 Coleman Street, the new facades reflect the proportions and materials of the surrounding streetscape, using a considered palette of limestone, rich black failence and bronze window frames.
We were appointed to deliver the external glazing and architectural cladding package for the development. Our scope included ground-floor stick system glazing, a minimally framed glass entrance with revolving door, full-height vision glazing screens in stick system from levels 1 to 7, rainscreen cladding from levels 5 to 7 and level 8 plant room cladding comprising acoustic rainscreen panel systems, installed around the full roof perimeter and set back from the roof edge.
One of the defining façade features is the double-height vision glazing screen located on levels 4 to 5, known as the “Picture Window”. It provides the building with a distinctive external character while offering users a sense of openness and visual connection to the outside. This relationship between inside and outside is reinforced by the terrace behind the glazing, which includes a tall central tree to introduce greenery and soften the façade experience.
The works also included dormer bay glass windows across two levels, composed of cladding panels and opening vents. The bay is inclined and partially recessed from the face of the façade, creating a more dynamic and sculptural expression within the elevation. This inclination gives the bay a distinctive architectural character, adding depth, shadow and visual interest to the façade. However, it also introduced complex interface conditions with the surrounding stone and aluminium cladding, particularly where the angled glazing met the adjacent flat façade elements.

At ground-floor level, the minimally framed glass entrance provides elegant lines to the main building entrance by reducing visible framing and maximising clear glass vision, while the revolving door creates a defined entrance point on the main elevation.
Delivered within a live commercial programme, the project required close coordination between design, procurement, fabrication and site installation teams. OAG worked closely with the client, architect and main contractor to resolve interfaces between stick-system glazing fitted in the existing concrete openings, architectural cladding, stonework, minimal-framing glazing systems and acoustic panels, while maintaining the architectural intent and required quality standards.
