Project Story
The breath-taking view from the upper levels of the atrium at 1 Basinghall gives you a clear idea of just what we can deliver. Even when the space afforded is relatively confined, natural light permeates the low-lying glazed rooflight creating a dramatic and inspiring effect.
Completed in July 2007, the offices at Basinghall became the global HQ for Standard Chartered Bank, with plans by Bennetts Associates. Our contribution included the design and installation of the silicone jointed glass atrium with a bespoke, shallow pitched roof. The unitised glass panels sit on extruded carrier frames, fixed to the steel framework that supports the roof.

Due to the narrow footprint of the site, the installation of the roof, steelwork and glazing required careful logistical planning. However, we came through and delivered and installed the atrium in one smooth operation.
