Project Story
We were contracted by Mace Interiors to carry out the installation of several different elements, both internally and externally for the 200 Gray’s Inn Road development.
By far the most logistically and technically challenging aspect of the project was the double storey height main external façade. The façade comprised of 8-metre-high laser welded mild steel mullion profiles each weighing in excess of 500kg, which were over clad with bespoke natural anodised aerofoil section aluminium extruded profiles. The glazing to the façade included 14 double glazed units each measuring 7.6 metres x 3 metres and weighing in excess of 2000kg.
In order to install the glass, a series of weekend road closures were arranged with the local authority, enabling the units to be hoisted into position via a vehicle mounted crane from the main highway. On completion of the external glazing works, an external powder coated aluminium soffit and fascia was installed to the full length of the façade.
