8 Bishopsgate

Design and installation of the stainless steel and glazed link bridge on the mezzanine level lift lobby above the reception desk

Project Story

Situated on the corner of two of the most prominent streets in London, 8 Bishopsgate is a 50-storey tower offering 570,000 square ft of office space, terraces, event space, street-level retail and a public viewing gallery.

Our work includes the design and installation of the stainless steel and glazed link bridge on the mezzanine level lift lobby above the reception desk, in the double height main entrance.

Approximately 18m long, the bespoke glazed bridge comprises of 100mm thick heat strengthened laminated glass panels, over 3m long cantilever projecting structural support beams in stainless steel.

The bridge edge is lined with structural glass balustrade, formed of point fixed 3m wide laminated glass panels to provide edge protection.

The stainless steel and glazed link bridge will welcome visitors to the reception area.

Last year we produced a functioning mock-up of the glass bridge which was a great success and well received by all in attendance – see images below.
