Project Story
Battersea Power Station is an iconic Grade II* listed building on the banks of the River Thames. Derelict since 1983 it has undergone a complete transformation along with its surrounding area, into a new creative urban quarter for London.
We were brought on to support Mace with Phase 2 of the redevelopment, restoring the power station itself.
This mixed-use development is now home to hundreds of shops, restaurants and cafes, an events venue, new homes, office spaces and a unique chimney lift experience offering 360 degree views over London’s skyline. There is 10,000 square metres of glass shop fronts within the Battersea Power Station split over 4 levels.
We designed and installed bespoke architectural glass and metalwork to the shop fronts and chimney lift enclosures, whilst working within the constraints of the heritage aspects of the building. Our technical team were instrumental in delivering a solution that was able to manage the structural, movement and tolerance challenges.
