Winchester House

75 London Wall, (Winchester House) is a landmark office building located in the heart of London’s financial district. Built in 1998 as the London headquarters for Deutsche Bank, the building has long been a symbol of modern corporate architecture. Designed with a sleek, contemporary aesthetic, Winchester House features a distinctive façade of stone cladding and large glazed panels, offering impressive views of the surrounding cityscape.

The building is now set for a major transformation, with refurbishment works and the addition of three new floors, taking it to 13 storeys. The original design will be retained on the lower levels, preserving the iconic stone cladding and glazing, while the upper floors are modernised using advanced construction techniques.

We’ve been appointed to lead the refurbishment and enhancement of the windows on levels 2, 3 and 4. Existing double-glazed units will be replaced with higher-performance DGU’s to significantly improve energy efficiency, while retaining the original window frames. The new glass will be installed into precast and handset stone surrounds, supplied and installed by Grants, helping protect the buildings architectural integrity while meeting modern sustainability standards. 

We’ll also clean, restore and repair any damage to the existing window frames, copings and flashings to ensure these key elements remain in excellent condition. 

Elsewhere, low carbon aluminium curtain wall framing will support the project’s sustainability goals, with new curtain walling introduced at levels 5 and 6. On the ground floor, a range of new door systems will enhance the entrance and retail spaces, including circular glass sliding doors for the main entrance, automated and manual sliding options and EI90 fire-rated doors to meet fire safety requirements. 

By combining preservation with performance upgrades, this refurbishment will strengthen 75 London Wall’s position as a prime City address for the future.
