Last month a team of volunteers from OAG joined colleagues from Mace to build a greenhouse for a school community garden.
The Hackney School of Food is a cooking centre to inspire, support and develop a love of cooking in people of all ages and levels of experience from young children to experienced chefs. They are proud of their gardens and the new greenhouse will be a fantastic addition.
The greenhouse will provide a fantastic space where the children will get to enjoy learning about growing and caring for plants. The homegrown produce can then be used in the school kitchens to make delicious and healthy meals.
As glass experts, we were perfectly placed to provide guidance on this project, with our team tooled-up and ready to help on site.
Over three days, the combined team levelled the area, spent many hours looking over the limited instructions and putting together more than 1000 individual parts. As well as hard work, the team enjoyed completing the project before the children returned from their Easter break.
“The success of this valuable community investment project is a testament to the hard work and excellent teamwork of all involved at both planning and execution stage and is something that we should all be immensely proud of achieving together.”
David Carter, Associate Director – Mace.
