OAG Achieves BS 99001:2022 Certification
OAG is pleased to have achieved BS 99001:2022 certification, further strengthening our approach to quality, competency and assurance across the projects we deliver.
Over the last year, compliance with the Building Safety Act has become an increasing focus across the construction industry, with clients and supply chain partners requesting greater evidence that appropriate systems, competencies and quality controls are in place.
With this in mind, OAG worked towards BS 99001 certification to provide an independently assessed framework that demonstrates the quality management processed embedded across our business.
What is BS 99001?
BS 99001:2022 is a British Standard developed specifically for the built environment. It builds on ISO 9001 and introduces additional requirements relevant to the design, construction and lifecycle of buildings.
The standard places particular emphasis on areas including:
- Competency and accountability
- design and project quality
- management of information and records
- inspection and testing
- control of products and materials; and
- fire and structurally critical products
Although BS 99001 does not replace the legal requirements of the Building Safety Act, it supports organisations in demonstrating robust quality management practices within the built environment.
Teresa Gorham our HSQES Director explains what it means to OAG
“Achieving BS 99001 provides further independent assurance that OAG has strong systems in place to manage quality, competency and project information. It also gives our clients and project partners a recognised way of verifying the controls we have in place, while reflecting the commitment of our terms to maintaining high standards throughout the projects we deliver. This certification represents another important step in strengthening our approach to quality building safety and continuous improvement.”
