The UK Government has declared a climate emergency and have set national targets in law to reduce emissions by 78% by 2035 and reach Net Zero status by 2050.
The construction sector has been shown to produce a significant proportion of the UK’s greenhouse gases through energy use and the embodied carbon of materials used.
There is clearly a need to act quickly and responsibly to mitigate emissions and operate more sustainably.
We have made a commitment to achieve operational Net Zero Carbon by 2030 and put in place a strategy to identify, report and minimise our associated greenhouse gas emissions. This will include our direct and indirect emissions as well as the embodied carbon of the products we use.
“The drive to Net Zero Carbon is fuelled by our desire to become part of the solution and meet our client’s construction needs in the most efficient and sustainable way possible so that we can build a better, cleaner world with benefits for all.”
Andy Grey, Managing Director.
Achieving our targets will bring many benefits for the business, as well as our clients and projects.
