In December 2019 I proudly took over the reigns as Chairman of the Pink Tie Club, due to the pandemic the reign ran over to 2021 to try and hold as many events as we could to support our chosen charities.
Made up of 9 companies from different areas of the construction industry, the Pink Tie Club has a simple mission ‘to support each other and try to help those who are less fortunate’ and has raised over £400,000 for charity since it began in 2008.
The last two years hasn’t been easy with all the uncertainty of Covid, but we managed to hold 3 main events; a crazy golf experience at Puttshack, our annual golf day which we held at Foxhill’s golf club and a sporting lunch at Balls Brothers in London.
More than 72 people joined us for our annual golf day, where we held a 9-hole Texas Scramble, lunch, then an 18-hole Stableford competition and BBQ to finish. If you haven’t had a chance to see our video, you can watch it below.
We have raised over £45,000 for our chosen charities Prostate Cancer UK, Breast Cancer Now and the Chandran Foundation – both Prostate Cancer UK and Breast Cancer Now fund important world-class research into these two cancers and the Chandran Foundation delivers educational support to disadvantaged young people.
Representatives from Prostate Cancer UK and Breast Cancer Now joined us at The Lucky Cat in Mayfair to receive their cheques, we were even briefly joined by Gordon Ramsay himself as you can see from this photo.
A huge thank you to everyone involved from the Pink Tie members, guests, colleagues, everyone who helped make things happen and most importantly our generous sponsors.
I hand over the role of Chairman to Marco Franchi and look forward to supporting him with fundraising next year.
