We entered at team in the Pink Tie Club Cycle Challenge around the Isle of Wight. Over 80 people from the construction industry cycled the approximately 70 miles over a very hilly terrain climbing around 5000ft. The event raised over £30,000 for Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust that supports young people with or who are recovering from cancer.
The event was held alongside the annual Little Britain Challenge Cup. All entrants managed to get around the course with some taking several hours more than others. Our Gary Evan’s who is a founder member of the Pink Tie Club said that the event was a fantastic success and raised a substantial amount of money for our chosen charity.
The Pink Tie Club is formed of 9 companies of different disciplines involved in the construction industry with a simple mission “to support each other and try to help those who are less fortunate. Since the PTC launched in 2008 it has now raised over £150,000 for its chosen charities.
