Following successful refurbishment projects at 135 and 155 Bishopsgate, we’re delighted to return to Bishopsgate, working alongside Multiplex, Fletcher Priest Architects, M3 Development and Eckersley O’Callaghan on the refurbishment of One Exchange Square, 175 Bishopsgate.
Situated in the heart of London’s financial district, One Exchange Square is an iconic building, undergoing a remarkable transformation.
Originally built in the late 1980s, the refurbishment project is not just a renovation but a rejuvenation, breathing new life into a structure that has long been an important part of London’s skyline. Over the years, however, the building has faced the effects of time and usage, driving the need for a comprehensive refurbishment to ensure its continued relevance and functionality in the 21st century.
This state-of-the-art 447,000 sq ft office development will include 17,000 sq ft of retail space onto both Bishopsgate and Exchange Square and premium workspace.
We’re undertaking a thermal upgrade for the existing stone façade. For the ground floor, we’ll be installing a low carbon curtain wall system along with a bespoke double-span steel curtain wall system. These will include double glazed units, spandrel panels and louvres. A large bespoke stainless steel feature louvre system will be placed over the main entrance.
Additionally, we’ll install more low carbon curtain walling with timber caps and timber acoustic panels in the West Atrium. Bespoke low carbon aluminium windows will also be part of the upgrade, featuring custom extrusions, double-glazed units and automated opening vents.
Lastly, we’ll incorporate various cladding types and materials. This includes stainless steel portal cladding, pre-patinated copper cladding, solid aluminium cladding and expanded mesh cladding panels for the lower levels.
As the transformation unfolds, One Exchange Square will be ready to reclaim its position as a landmark destination in London.
